SPARKLE LIGHT FESTIVAL

Sunday evening, we set out with a group of 12 to dinner and the Sparkle Light Festival for the opening weekend! This holiday display is located on Impact Field (Chicago Dog's Stadium) in Rosemont and filled with millions of twinkling light displays to walk through and have the ultimate photo ops. Parking is conveniently available at Impact Field’s onsite parking garage for $5 per vehicle.

There are five major illuminated villages to see including the frozen forest, snowflake circle, winter wonderland, deck the walls and the north pole.  The Rudolph Kids Zone has a children's maze and interactive activities for kids to enjoy! The space is indoor and heated filled with blowups and oversized games. Festive food and beverage options are also available for purchase. If you time it just right you may sneak in a visit with the big guy. Santa was located in the VIP section and we were able to take some photos in his heated tent.

Our first stop in the park was the two-story Alpine Slide. This attraction is perfect for kids and adults. We had the best time riding down the ice slide in innertubes. Sonny was brave enough to go down himself and each time Remi got to the bottom she asked to go again! It may look intimidating but our 2.5 year old’s LOVED it! The employees at the top of the slide were so helpful by assisting us into the innertubes and sending us off with a push down the slope. The line was short and moved quickly.

The Holly Trolly is a free train ride for families. The ride is quick to keep the attention and patience of your little ones. Choose your car choice preference and head out around the ground floor. This was a great way to see some of the light displays and the kids loved being in the Choo Choo! You can ride the attraction an unlimited number of times.

Friendly reminder to dress appropriately because this is an outdoor event! We both felt as if being on the ground floor of the field actually kept the wind away. The temp was nice and cozy to walk around for a few hours. We highly recommend bringing strollers and/or wagons if you have little ones. The attractions are spread out all around the field which also is helps to stay away from crowds of people in close quarters. We had some snacks and blankets packed for extra comfort.

This holiday event will be open through January 1, 2023. General admission tickets are available for $25 for adults and $20 for children (2-12 years of age). Premium ticket packages and add-on experiences are also available and include:

  • Tubing Rides on the Alpine Slide, $22 per person: allows unlimited rides on the Alpine Slide during designated ticket timeframe.

  • Rivers Stadium Club Tickets, $70 per person: this all-inclusive ticket allows access to Impact Field’s “Rivers Stadium Club” complete with a premium buffet, house beer and wine, non-alcoholic beverages and unlimited tubing.

  • The event also offers six luxury suites for groups of up to 18 guests.  Suite reservations begin at $450 and include 10 tickets. Food and beverages and additional tickets can be purchased.

The Sparkle Light Festival is perfect for family visits and group outings. We had a blast making memories with our little ones and can't wait to go back for another ride down the tube slide and a visit with Santa. If you are local this is a must-see spot to start your new holiday traditions.
