Hopping into Easter
Updated: Mar 15, 2022
Aaaah spring, the glorious time of year when temps are rising, animals are coming out of hibernation and plant life is in full bloom. All eyes seem to be on the kids when in fact, we as adults can enjoy an Easter basket too! Whether you spend your holiday at church, participate in an egg hunt or indulge in a family brunch, we are here to provide some tips to make this year's basket one to remember.
Recycle your Easter Basket - if you have a personalized Easter basket, there is no need to get a new one! We love our personalized baskets from Pottery Barn Kids. A reused basket also helps keeps tradition alive in your home.
Theme for the year - This is a great time to purchase spring and summer accessories. Fill your basket with an umbrellas and rainboots or a new swimsuit and water shoes.
Filling - Skip the paper grass and try to utilize something that wont cause a headache or make a mess. Tissue paper will work as well as folded clothes, a personalized beach towel or even some loofas for the bathtub!
Never to old for a basket - Baskets aren't just for little ones. We have great suggestions for pre-teens, teenagers, adults and even your fur babes!
The Easter basket tradition was one that was passed from European folklore as a rabbit was said to leave a basket of colored eggs for the children. For those of you trying to conceive (wink wink), here is a fun fact! The Easter holiday was originally the celebration of an Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility and sex. Her symbols (like the egg and bunny) were and still are fertility and sex symbols. Now we know how the eggs and bunnies came to be since they had absolutely nothing to do with the Resurrection! This tradition was passed along to America through immigrants and has evolved throughout the years.
This year we rounded up our favorite Easter and Spring pajamas, books and basket fillers to help you prepare for the upcoming holiday. We curated the ultimate list for everyBUNNY. As always time spent together is the greatest gift!
